It’s that time of year again when we gather around the table to give thanks for our many blessings throughout the year, to be with our family members and to eat entirely too much of this glorious food. We spend hours preparing our favorite traditional foods that each family could not even imagine having thanksgiving without them. Seriously, what would a thanksgiving meal be without cranberry sauce? Even if that’s the only day of the year that you eat it? Seriously…
This year, I ditched the turkey and made chicken and dressing…I know, I know, it’s sacrilegious to some, but we like chicken more and I was doing things a little different and a bit easier this year. Make sure to add lots of good wine just to make things more interesting…yeah….
On our thanksgiving table, we had…
Chicken and Cornbread Dressing
Ultimate mashed potatoes & gravy
Cornbread dressing with chicken & bacon
Sweet potato casserole with praline topping
Southern green beans with ham & new potatoes
Cranberry sauce with oranges
Hummingbird cake!
