Happy Halloween – It’s the Witching Hour!!

When black cats prowl and pumpkins gleam, may luck be yours….it’s Halloween…

I enjoy the Halloween season SO much, I mean when else can you dress up in any fashion, put on tons of make-up and glitter and act like someone else….and get away with it??  You can be anything you want! Love, love, love it.  Personally, I love being a witch.  No, only on Halloween.  I have new purple witch’s hat that is absolutely gorgeous as I try to be a cute witch, not an ugly on…but we shall see.  Can’t wait to dress up for all the trick or treaters!!!

Happy Haunting!

When October begins, I get out my fall decorations of gold and orange leaf garlands, pumpkins and orange lights and fill the fireplace mantle and entry table, and then I buy pumpkins and mums and line the front porch entry with these and lots of lights.  When Halloween is over I remove anything ‘spooky or witchy’ and I have my fall/Thanksgiving decorations already in place…except for a few extras touches. Everything stays up until the day after Thanksgiving when all the Christmas decor come out!!  Can’t wait!

And of course, lots of food like Goblin cheese balls, deviled eyes and vampire bat wings…yum!!  Gotta love a great decorated table for any occasion.

These are basic cheese balls, whatever you like…but I do have a good recipe for the nacho pumpkin ball.

Who knew that Vampire bat wings are really very tasty served up with Mere Mortals blood dip and Voodoo Swamp Poison Potion!!

And it wouldn’t be Halloween without a graveyard dip! Your choice of dip that is thick enough to allow the parsley stems or celery leaves to stand up on their own.  This can also be used as a graveyard cake.  Just line the edges with mini-pretzels as the fence and write your epitaphs on the crackers or cookies.  Looks great with little goblins and skeletons too.

There’s mischief brewing and we need a cocktail….Try this eerie lime green Zombie Spirits Martini…green creme de menthe with a dash of Sprite, which must be rimmed with zombie blood!!

To make fake blood…start with 1/4 cup clear Karo syrup, add 5 drops red food color, 1 drop of blue and one drop of chocolate syrup and stir well.  Adjust to your liking.  Great fake blood and totally safe.

BOO y’all …it’s time to get your Scarey on!!  Happy Halloween!
