We have SO many Mexican restaurants here in Houston and each one makes a different salsa. Some are cooked, some are made raw, some served warm and others cold. Spanish Flowers on North Main here in the Heights makes a great fresh salsa and you immediately taste the fresh tomatoes. It’s one of my faves.
Now, I like jarred salsas just fine, but making it yourself can be quite easy and you get to adjust the heat and flavors to your liking. That’s what I love about playing in the kitchen.
This salsa is smoky and rich with a little heat from the chipotles and a bit of garlic and cilantro. It’s really good.
So, for your next little soiree, mix up your own homemade salsa and show them you can do it! You know the drill…invite some friends over (tell them they are all required to wear flip flops!!) throw fajitas on the grill, make some beer margaritas, guacamole and add your salsa and tortillas chips.
Turn the music up loud! Instant Party!!
