Green Onion Shrimp Dip

Wonderful, creamy green onion Shrimp Dip!

I used to work for E. F. Hutton in the Texas Chase Tower in downtown Houston…I know, I know, I must be ancient…that was a LONG time ago.  Whatever… Anyway!! I worked with this sweet, sweet woman named Lana and this was her signature dish.  The first time you try it you’re hooked and it then becomes YOUR signature dish.  Sorry Lana, where ever you are today.

So, fast forward to today and I’m still making this great dip and every time I make…you know, everyone asks for the recipe and so on…because it is really, really good.  It’s creamy with green onion, a bit of tang & salty with plump little shrimps…not overpowering.

The only place I have found this green onion dip mix is at Kroger (yes, I shop there all the time because I live in the Heights and that’s all we have!!) near the salad dressings, look up, top shelf next to the dry ranch mix.  Sometimes they run out, so I usually stock up when I see it.  Also, I usually use 2  6oz cans of baby shrimp, but I had these frozen shrimp so I used them instead and they are just as good.

Make the dip early, as the flavors need to meld and the dry onions in the mix need to hydrate…the night before works perfectly. Oh, and I was told to always serve this with Triscuits because it pairs so well, be you can be a renegade and choose your own crackers…if you’re that out there.

Party coming up?  Make this and you will be the next ‘snacky stuff’ star!  Bring the recipe with you.  You’ll need it.

Well I’m one of those folks that insists that it be brought by someone to our “gatherings”. I’ve made it myself and it is super simple and simply yummy!
